Cambridge-london~!
Tuesday, January 30, 2007 3:13 AM

Back from my weekend trip. It was a real good break. Everyone says I look better now. As in, I look happier. =) So thanks Von and Aizhen for everything. =)

Well, lets start with Cambridge. It’s a real nice place actually…. It’s just so surreal, living there for too long could actually make a person rather detached from the world. It’s the “The Researcher’s Ivory Tower” in its physical form. But of coz, the highlight of the trip was seeing aizhen’s performance. Its really good to see her dancing again. I’ve seen her dancing since.. primary sch? Goodness! But it was really really good. The other performances were.. soso. Haha. But seeing everyone enjoying themselves on stage is a real good thing. All of them were obviously happy, even though.. some really couldn’t dance to save their lives. =) (dun worry aizhen, no one reads my blog. Hahaha)

Three of us after the performance!

London was great. IT was OINK out sessions! We had 4 seasons duck for lunch! (Do I hear screams?!) Between me and von, we had…. Half a roast duck, spare ribs, toufu with prawn and 5 bowls of rice! [siao right?!] And its so funny. We shared a table with 4 other guys.. and they kept staring at our food, not in disgust but.. with jealous eyes! =) And to von’s surprise, we got rather good service. We’re still on a debate whether we got good service coz I spoke Cantonese, or whether it was just becoz.. I’m pretty! (do I hear ppl puking?! If u’re not happy, jus click the small X on the top right corner of the window ok! TSK) The food was fantastic. But I really couldn’t help but whine after lunch becoz I was really exploding. I was that full! And by the way, I ate 2 bowls, von ate 3! Muhahaha!

Then dinner was at Vietnamese. We met Von’s brother for dinner. We ordered a lot a lot a lot again. Each person one bowl of noodles, one Vietnamese roll, 2 orders of fish, 1 cat fish with gravy, and one chicken royale. And a bowl of rice. People for the Tan family can eat! Seriously. Its in the genes. =) Well, good company, good conversations and good food. Was really enjoyable. Oh, by the way, we watch half of animal planet (ocean deep) before dinner. Was really interesting.. but then some of the deep ocean creatures really look like monsters. Really… haha. And after dinner, we talked and talked and talked. And only slept at 630. and woke up at 9. =(

This is our food at 4 seasons! Half way through, before i remembered to take a photo! =P

When u let the pigs loose for 20 mins, this is left.

Highlight of today: The delivery man with a parcel for me! =) When he passed me the parcel, I said “Thank u! u made my day!” And he replied me “U;re most welcome! U made my day too!” haha. So sweet right. =) Anyway, thx for the parcel. I guess, only unless u’ve been away from home for an extended period of time, its hard to understand how receiving things from friends and family can jus be so warm. =)

Hmm, I think blogging, for me at least, is a great way to update friends. But to be honest, I haven an idea who reads this, and haven an idea WHY u bother to read this. I guess, I do have friends who love me enough to want to know wat I had for lunch and which modules I think are stupid. =) Don’t worry, I read my friends blogs too. And obviously I love them enough to wan to hear their depressive episodes, abt how they are trying hard to break through and abt how sick they are of their attachement. =P *winks*

Email is a fantastic way to keep in touch with people. Basically, u can reply as and when u’re free. Not like msn, where u still need to be there. But I guess, its different la. msn is real time conversation. But well, been emailing quite a bit recently. Keeping in touch with ancient friends and ex-colleagues that are half way round the world. Its quite funny. An ex-colleague sent me a link to a kid’s blog. Hilarious and spooky is wat it is I guess. Haha. Goodness. Moral of the story, “ Kids, be careful when u blog about ur teachers ok!” But was a good and entertaining read. =)

Ok folks. I’m off to do homework! (我怎么回沦落到需要做功课呢?) Sigh. Oh, its for my module called “Economics of Industry”. When I went for class, I was wondering.. how come there are so many guys?! The ratio was like 10 guys to 1 girl? Quite intimidating for an arts kid lik me who is use to having female dominance in the LT. Found out today that the module is a compulsory engineering module. [need I explain further?]
