A friend told me over lunch today:" I will not date a guy who cannot give me alot of attention."

I asked:" what do u mean by a lot of attention?"

She said:" Well, i cant define it, but basically, he mus be interested in the details in my life and spend quite a lot of time with me. Well, i cant tell u exactly, but i think attention is important. Giving u attention means that u are important enough for him to spend that amt of time and energy on you."

I ponder for a moment and didnt answer.

She continues... " If he doesnt care abt anything abt me, or doesnt spend time with me and on me, i think i am just not important enough. Thats to me at least."

I realize... Its not about the amount of time per se, or the actual amount of attention as well. Its jus about making the other person feel important. The worse thing u can do to anyone, is to make them feel like they are dispensible. 可有可无。Its the nonchalance or apparent indifference that is hurting and unacceptable.
